NCAC partners with local high schools or fair grounds to provide eating and sleeping arrangements that are comfortable, allow people to shower, and allow all participants to get to know each other.
After arriving back from your day on the road, you will identify your tent and bag, find a cozy place to set up, and probably hop right in the shower. Once you’ve slipped into something more comfortable, you are free to enjoy snacks, massages, chiropractic treatments, and compare stories from your day.
A full catered dinner, buffet-style is available about an hour after the route closes, to give everyone a chance to relax for a few minutes before chowing down on some of the best food you have ever tasted (or pretty darn close – especially after a long day on the road!).
Each night after dinner, the “Evening Presentation” will be brought to you by the NCAC Organizing Committee, who will provide thoughtful entertainment and information. Typically, NCAC beneficiaries share a little bit about their programs and community influence, the crew reports on the highlights of the day, prizes are awarded in a variety of categories (that are often dependent on the highlights of the day!), and several people share personal stories. Get ready to laugh, cry, and reach out and touch someone.
After this, you’ll be ready to hit the hay – whether you have set up in the “tent city” or opted to stay in a nearby motel room, sleep will come quickly! If you listen closely, you might hear folks making quiet music as you drift off.
