NCAC Leadership
Board of Directors
Our volunteer Board of Directors is dedicated to ensuring that the mission of NCAC is achieved.
Scott Doyle - Chairperson
Scott Doyle started riding NCAC in 2015 after a friend asked him to join team Sunburst. He had not even heard of NCAC at that time, but having ridden ALC twice he was onboard to support a ride that has a local route and supports local non-profits. Since then, he has trained for and biked 6 rides, pedaling thousands of miles in sunshine, rain and hail to help those less fortunate. Along the way, NCAC provided a path to experience countless victories and challenges… but mostly an environment of caring and camaraderie that has fostered many amazing friendships.
In 2020 he was asked to take the lead for team Sunburst, which he still holds today. In August of 2022 he was asked to join the NCAC board, which he accepted as an opportunity to use the skillsets developed during his 26 year tenure at Intel to give back to the community. Scott@norcalaidscycle.org
Colin Gallagher - Vice Chairperson
Colin Gallagher rode his first NCAC in 2024 after moving to Sacramento from the Midwest where he rode the Pan Ohio Hope Ride ten times and raised over $50,000 for cancer research and care. He has participated in several other charity rides in the Midwest and east coast.
After his first NCAC ride he saw the incredible impact of local advocacy, fundraising, and how essential services like healthcare, housing, and education are for people living with or at risk of HIV in the area. He is excited to make a positive impact in Northern California as a board member, supporting a cause he cares about, all while becoming part of a community united for a common goal.
When he is not on a bike has an unhealthy LEGO addiction, likes a good red wine, and is most definitely team Oxford comma. Colin@norcalaidscycle.org
Jerry Mitchell - Chairperson Emeritus
Jerry Mitchell has been an active participant with the NorCal AIDS Cycle since first riding in the event in 2008. Jerry is a 35+ year employee of the American Express Company where he works as a global proposal strategy manager. Jerry's focus in his role as Board Chairperson Emeritus is on growing event participation levels, raising as much as possible while spending as little as possible and ensuring that the many voices of riders and crew are heard and acknowledged as NorCal AIDS Cycle looks to the future. Garrett Lenoir - Board Member
Following the COVID-19 lockdown, Garrett Lenoir rediscovered his childhood passion for cycling. In 2021, he enrolled in his first AIDS/LifeCycle ride and joined the Sacramento-based training team. By his second year, he became a Training Ride Leader for AIDS/LifeCycle, assisting new riders in honing their cycling skills / endurance. While training for his fourth consecutive year of ALC, having ridden 27k miles, and raising over $50k for AIDS services, he became aware of the NorCal AIDS Cycle event, and decided to participate. In 2024, Garrett signed up for his first NCAC ride and was immediately captivated by the group’s commitment to local needs. He subsequently joined the NCAC board with a personal objective to increase rider enrollment and raise awareness about this remarkable event. Garrett@norcalaidscycle.org
Ken Cook - Board Member
Ken Cook has been involved in AIDS rides since 2015 and has participated in every AIDS/LifeCycle ride since 2016. Along the way, he has also organized two long-distance fundraising rides—one through the Pacific Northwest and another from Boston to San Francisco—both in support of HIV/AIDS services. As a longtime Training Ride Leader, Ken enjoys creating a welcoming environment for cyclists of all skill levels and finds great satisfaction in helping others discover the joy of cycling. The grassroots spirit and strong volunteer community of NCAC are what first drew him in, and he is honored to serve on the Board and help support a cause he deeply believes in: helping others. Jim Jacobs - Org Committee Lead
Jim Jacobs has been part of the NorCal AIDS Cycle community since 2013, when a friend invited him to ride with Team Fast Team Eddy after cheering from the sidelines the year before. Since then, he has ridden with several teams, including Team Sunburst and Taco Squad, and deepened his involvement beyond the ride itself.
After participating in organization meetings and attending board sessions, Jim went on to serve on the NCAC Board, where he contributed to sponsorship development, trainings, and fundraising initiatives. Among his proudest accomplishments is helping lead NCAC’s Crab Feed—an event that raised over $53,000. He now plays a key role in organizing the annual Wine Tasting and Martini Fundraiser, generously hosted each April by local supporters.
This marks Jim’s second involvement with an HIV/AIDS-focused organization, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the cause. For him, the most meaningful moment each year comes in August, when NCAC presents checks to its beneficiaries. Dailydose@hotmail.com
